7 Best Fantasy Player Picks For Premier League 2021-2022 Week 10 Fixtures

Updated: Nov 3, 2021

Last weekend, FPL managers faced a tough decision: Did they captain Salah or not? Depending on the outcome, it could have been either a story of two gameweeks.

The lucky few who stuck the Salah arm band onto the Liverpool player were able to reap the rewards of watching Salah rake in three goals, including a hat trick, an assist, and all three points. Those who didn't vote for him as captain, meanwhile, were left to lick their wounds.

It's undeniable that Salah was a popular choice as our recommend captain this week. The Liverpool midfielder scored a total of 31 points, more than 31% of the team's weekly average. Reece James and Tino Livramento, both defenders, were also scorers in the squad and it makes us feel pretty smug.

Onto Gameweek 10, and there are a few fixtures that stand out. Arsenal faces Leicester on Saturday, with the last game of the day being between Spurs and Manchester United.

Elsewhere, Chelsea, the Premier League's current leaders, will be hoping to continue their perfect streak. They'll face the under-performing Newcastle United. Manchester City are up against Crystal Palace, a team that is getting plenty of compliments but not necessarily points, under former City player Patrick Vieira.

Here are best 7 players that we think you may consider for this week fixtures.

  1. Ederson

  2. Trent Alexander-Arnold

  3. Mohamed Salah

  4. Son Heung-min

  5. Ben Chilwell

  6. Rodrigo

  7. Mason Mount

Ederson

Manchester City have been so good this season that they have not conceded a single goal in four games. They will be hoping for a clean sheet when Crystal Palace come to town this Saturday. Ederson has averaged 4.63 points per game from FPL, which is only bettered by four other goalkeepers in the league.

Trent Alexander-Arnold

Trent Alexander-Arnold registered his third league assist of the season, and it was a beauty. He was able to tap in Diogo Jota for a goal, although he missed the past two games due to injury and illness. Despite this, he is still tied with Bruno Fernandés for most creative player in FPL.

Mohamed Salah

Salah’s latest haul against United is not only a milestone for him, but puts him in a league of his own. He has now done more than double the points of any other midfielder in FPL this season. It's not too reactive to say that Brighton are better coached than Manchester United. They conceded four times against Manchester City last week. With Mo Salah in such good form, the Seagulls face an uphill battle to keep him quiet.

Son Heung-min

Manchester United's horrific second half against Liverpool was not enough to match Tottenham's poor performance against West Ham. Saturday's matchup will be very interesting to see how the out-of-form teams pan out.

Son Heung-min's ability to take advantage of any gaps that United leaves in their backline will be the key to Spurs' success. Whether or not United lets him get away with it is still up in the air, but over the past four gameweeks, he has scored more goals (1.93) than Harry Kane (1.44), created more big chances (4) than Kane (3), and had more chances created (12) than Kane (3).

Ben Chilwell

You never know who you'll get when you select a Chelsea defender in your FPL team. But Ben Chilwell is a smart choice, considering how badly Newcastle had trouble defending crosses against Crystal Palace. Christian Benteke has one header, two shots that hit the woodwork, and another disallowed goal. Among defenders, Chilwell has attempted the third-highest number of crosses in the past seven gameweeks.

Rodrigo

With other players injured or not living up to their price tags, it's a good time to take risks in the striker position. Leeds have not been able to build upon their 2020-21 form yet, but they have won two of their last three matches. They are facing Norwich, who are at the bottom of the league. With Patrick Bamford injured, Rodrigo Moreno will lead the line and be in charge of penalty-taking duties.

Mason Mount

Mason Mount had the best game of the season, netting three goals and an assist. This is not merely chasing last week's points-mount's confidence is high. He will continue his hot streak against the second-worst defense in the league. Crystal Palace is an astonishing side, capable of scoring against Newcastle in Gameweek 9 and only through their misfortune and bad luck did they escape Selhurst Park with a 1-1 draw.
