Sri Lanka had a great match at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup as they beat Ireland. Sri Lanka had a shaky start as they were down 8-3, but then Pathum Nissanka and Wanindu Hasaranga played fantastic innings to allow them to win the match.
Now the 12th T20 World Cup match will be between the Netherlands and Sri Lanka on Friday at the Sharjah International Cricket Stadium. This is the first time these two teams have fought in T20 World Cup after 2014.
Sri Lanka is on top of their game. In just two games, they have taken winning home twice. A clinical seven-wicket win over Namibia opened the door to their qualifying round success. On the other hand, the Netherlands have not had any one standout player in the tournament. The Netherland played two matches and lost both of them, with Max ODowd scoring an individual half-century against Ireland. Despite that, the Netherlands only managed 106 runs against Ireland, who got there in just 15.1 overs.
The lady luck seems stands with Sri Lanka now and the Netherlands are out of the running for the Super 12s. But definitely the Netherlands are still looking for a win on Friday.
